



SHERYL SOUTHWICK
“Color & texture have been the main focus of my work since I began painting”
Sheryl is an award-winning artist known for her collages, paintings and prints. She was born in Louisiana where she studied at LSU graduating with a BFA in painting & drawing. She later studied at the Corcoran School of Art, Washington D.C. In 1987 Sheryl moved to Easton where she has been part of the arts & teaching artists communities.
“I lived in Paris for a year where my connection to French artist Pierre Bonnard was re-kindled. He is my greatest influence.”
Sheryl is a teaching artist for adults & children at the Academy Art Museum& the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center, both in Easton. She also teaches classes at Oxford Community Center and Dorchester Center for the Arts, Cambridge. Sheryl has shown work at various galleries in Maryland and Louisiana, her native state.
