Karen Baldosser

Karen Boldosser is the artist and owner of Mystic Moose GlassArts, creating vibrant fused glass artwork from her studio in Easton, Maryland, where she lives with her husband, Michael, and their two wonderfully mischievous cats, Luke and Theo.

Karen never imagined glass would become her artistic medium. In 2020, a friend unexpectedly gave her a kiln—a gift that would change the course of her creative life. At the time, she knew very little about fused glass, but curiosity quickly became passion. As she likes to joke, it turned into "the most expensive gift I've ever received," inspiring her husband to build a dedicated studio and opening the door to an art form with endless possibilities.

During the pandemic, Karen immersed herself in online classes and workshops, learning from accomplished glass artists across the country. She remains deeply grateful for the generosity of the fused glass community, whose willingness to share knowledge helped shape her growth as an artist.

Inspired by nature, the Chesapeake Bay, dramatic skies, and the ever-changing play of light, Karen creates artwork filled with movement, texture, and joyful color. Hearts frequently appear in her work - sometimes boldly, sometimes quietly hidden - as a reminder that love, kindness, and hope are always worth celebrating. Karen is continually exploring new techniques and pushing the possibilities of fused glass, believing that curiosity and experimentation are the best teachers. Every new process she learns becomes another step toward finding her own artistic voice.

Her work has been exhibited throughout Maryland's Eastern Shore, including Main Street Gallery in Cambridge, Saint Michaels Artisans Gallery, Laughing Lotus Arts & Goods, the Sea Glass Festival, the Plein Air Easton Artist Showcase, and the Oxford Holiday Marketplace.

Karen hopes her artwork simply makes people happy. If someone walks away smiling or finds a moment of joy in one of her pieces, then she feels she has succeeded.
